Did you know that worms can be used to dispose of your organic waste while making a great pH neutral fertilizer for your garden?
The number of worms you will need depends on the number of people in your household and the amount of food scraps you produce. As a general rule, you will need to start with between one and two thousand worms. If the conditions in your worm farm are ideal, your worms will eat their body weight in food approximately every two days. Worms will adjust their population to suit the amount of food they are given. You should be careful however to slowly increase the amount of food scraps you give them otherwise your worm farm may become smelly.
